Agreement to Terms
By engaging The Great Estate for estate clear-out or senior moving services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
Services
The Great Estate provides estate clear-out coordination, senior moving support, sorting, packing, inventory management, and related services as described in individual project agreements.
We coordinate with third-party service providers (movers, auction houses, donation centres, disposal services) but do not directly perform moving, hauling, or specialized services unless explicitly stated.
Authority to Act
You represent and warrant that you have legal authority to engage our services and make decisions about the property and belongings involved. This typically requires being an executor, administrator, power of attorney holder, property owner, or authorized family member.
Pricing & Payment
Services are billed at hourly rates as outlined in your project estimate. Third-party costs are billed at cost plus a handling fee. Payment terms are:
- 25% deposit due upon project booking
- Progress billing at agreed milestones
- Final payment due upon project completion and approval
Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the property and project requirements
- Grant access to the property during agreed working hours
- Provide clear written direction for item disposition decisions
- Review and approve documentation (inventories, photos) in a timely manner

Insurance & Liability
The Great Estate carries comprehensive liability insurance and goods-in-care insurance. We will handle all belongings with professional care. In the event of damage or loss, our liability is limited to the amount covered by our insurance policy and/or the documented value of the item.
Valuables & High-Value Items
We recommend professional appraisals for items of significant value. While we photograph and inventory valuable and significant items, we are not appraisers. You are responsible for declaring high-value items and ensuring appropriate insurance coverage.
Cancellation & Changes
Projects may be cancelled with 7 days' notice without penalty. Cancellations with less than 7 days' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the remaining balance. Changes to project scope may result in revised timelines and costs.
